I am thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to the repeater system that is sure to enhance your GMRS experience. The installation of a new Yagi antenna on the repeater!
What Does This Mean for You?
The Yagi antenna, known for its directional capabilities, is designed to focus the signal in a specific direction, providing a stronger and more reliable connection. This upgrade means that you can expect a substantial increase in range, ensuring that your communications are crystal clear, even at greater distances.
This installation is directed 340 degrees to the NORTH from Milton E. Proby/COS Airport. The majority of users were in that direction but with it being a 3-element yagi it should still reach outwards fairly well and a smaller range to the South, and users should still expect to be able to receive those areas just fine.
What’s Next?
With this new setup, I have successfully communicated in regions that were unable to connect before.
I’m excited to hear about your experiences with the enhanced system and look forward to your feedback!
A Big Thank You!
I also wanted to announce that we have reached 30 members for the Haiku repeater!
I hope it’s been useful for those who have had the chance to utilize it.
If anyone has any interest in events, nets, or any suggestions otherwise, You can reach me on the radio or send me an email using the Contact page.
Otherwise, I hope you can reach your friends better with this new setup and I’ll be excited to hear you on the net!
